Salon marketing. How to move more retail product
I want to make an accurate statement, you are leaving 100% more income on the table! salon marketing is easy if you know what you are doing
and the good news is that you dont need to advertise, you simply mazimize what you have from your existing clients. Your existing clients are more likely to buy from you than a new client you gain from advertising
so why dont salons move more product?
Most either don’t have a retail section or those that have them don’t know how to move product. some hair stylist are paralyzed with fear, they think that if they ask thier clients to buy , those clients will run away from them-not so! your clients are in need of your advice and direction and it is your obligation to direct them. if the product you are selling works why not recommend it to them?
fact is , if you dont do they will go on the internet or some other salon and find a solution to thier problem!
Some hair stylist simply dont know what to say to move product so in this email i am going to tell you exactly what to say....it is so simple, if you learn it , it will ensure you pocket more money without effort
So in this article I am going to show you a simple salon marketing tip and a simple group of words can help you move retail product and make your hair styling business more profitable.
Now, you have to actually use this salon marketing tip to work and you have to practice until it becomes second nature, remember it is just a simple set of words that will put money in your pocket
Again Understand that your clients come to you because they trust you and know you! They are actually silently begging to be led, they want your advice and direction and they want you to suggest something that will be helpful to them and their hair when they are not in your salon
The average client comes into a salon once a month and will spend on average $100
What if there was a way to bring them in every two weeks and get them to spend an extra $100 at your store, are you interested?
Salon marketing is non existent because it is not even defined properly; I define marketing as developing relationship with your client in such a mutual beneficial way that product and services move! This is my definition! Plain and simple
I will break it down…a mutual relationship between you and your client that is beneficial to the both of you
On your part you should care enough to help your client get the best hair possible and be able to recommend products that will help them whether or not it is in your interest
And on their part, when they see you are helping them honestly and wholeheartedly they tend to pay you and reward you with extra money on services and buying product
-it is a win-win situation
To recommend product all you need to do is identify what hair problems they have and recommend something to them, something like this
“You know, you are thinning on top a bit, I know of a great product that might help you, you might want to try it out”
that is all, saying this caring statement alone shows that you care about them and want to help, if they are interested you would have sold a product, lets say you sell
I WANT TO GO OVER THESE WORDS AGAIN SO YOU UNDERSTAND
you are cutting the persons hair and you say "you know it seems your hair is thinning or is dry" you are making an observation. if i go to a doctor and the doctor tell me i am overweight and that i need to exercise i would not be insulted-he is a professional and he is directing me, likewise you are a professional and are directing them
next step is "i know of a great product that will help you out, would you like to try it"
this is a low pressure suggestion, they can say no, they dont feel pressured - it works if you use it

What does this means? It means if you have a $100,000 a year business you have taken it to $200,000 with no advertising and no effort…just by simply using a simple group of words. That is smart salon marketing.
