Nails are very important part of our hands and feet. When it becomes dirty then it looks ugly. Dirty nails are unhygienic. So we should clean our nails regularly. Proper cleaning is not enough so we must cut and moisturizes our nails. Clean and healthy nails are looks beautiful. Nail care is a part of our life and our personal grooming. The nail is made of a hard protein called keratin. Hand nails help us to pick some objects. Generally men's nails are harder than women's nails. It has a trend to grow faster than women's nails. Most of the person's nails are grow an eighth of an inch per month. If we want to know the actual growth of our nails then we must take care of it.  Here are some nail care tips:

1. File nails regularly and keeps them short.

2. Wear hand gloves to protect our hands from virus and bacteria.

3. Don't use nail polish remover more than once a week. We must remove old nail polish from our nails. Otherwise our nails become ugly.

4. Nail biting is a bad habit. It is very harmful for nails. Those people who have this habit, they should avoid this bad habit. It may cause many kind of nail problems like- bacterial infection, warts around the nail beds, bleeding, permanent nail damage etc.

5. After washing hands and feet we must dry our nails properly.

6. Use Hand and Nail Cream. It moisturizes our nails. We should do manicure and pedicure at least twice a week

11. Always use a nail polish remover which contains hydrating oils.

12. Don't use nails as a tool. It may damage our nails.

These are not enough so we need more care of our nails:

15. We should take fruits and vegetables, nuts, fish and eggs. These are all makes our nails healthy.

16. Always take foods which contain calcium and zinc. Some times we saw white spots on our nails. It indicates the deficiency of zinc in our diet. So we need zinc containing foods like- egg, beef liver etc.

17. Vitamin-A, B, C, D and E are essential for our nails.

18. Extreme fragile nails indicate an iron deficiency. So we need iron containing foods like- leafy vegetables, prunes, pumpkin seeds, liver etc.

19. Herbal tea makes our nails strong. It also reduces brittleness of our nails.

20. We can massage coconut oil or caster oil to make our nails shiny and beautiful.

Hand gloves should always be used while working as solvent and cleaners that are frequently used for the household works are not good for the nails. Wearing of gloves while doing work will also help to have clear nails as dust and dirt will be prevented from entering the nail.

Nail Care Tips

Nail care products are not enough to provide healthy nails but by following some of the nail care tips one can maintain the clean and healthy look of the nails. Some of the vital nail care tips are as follows:

Keep the Nails Dry and Clean – Dry and clear nails will prevents bacteria, fungi or other harmful organisms from growing beneath the nail. The nails should be regularly cleaned and dried after bathing.

Wear Rubber Gloves – Rubber gloves should be worn while using soap and water for longer period.

Trim and File Nails – The nails should be regularly trimmed and filed n order to avoid nail taking improper shape.

Moisturize the Nails -  Nails also need moisturizer just like the skin to maintain the smoothness and softness.

Adverse Effect of Improper Nail Care

Not taking proper and due care of the nail along with hand and feet can result in several fungal infections in the hand and toe nails as well as hand and feet. Athletes foot is also a fungal infection caused by the fungus that grows on the top layer of the skin. The warm and wet places like the area between the toes are the best place for the fungi to grow. If athlete foot treatment is not started at the early stage it can become extremely painful. If athlete foot treatment is started early one can easily get rid of this fungal infection.

Beautiful Nature Nails:Beautiful, natural nails require care and proper care. A shortish nail that is straight across the top with rounded edges is the current in style shape.

Filing Nails:File nails when the white part of the nail tip has grown 1/4" from the pink part of the nail. Filing nails before the nail is 1//4" long can weaken the nail. Allowing the nail to grow to a length longer than the base pink nail length will be sure to make them break easily. Nail sfile from side to side would weaken nails. When filing, go from the corner to the center in one direction. Follow the groove on the side of your nail.

Buffing Nails:Buffing nails can give them a shinier finish. Start at the cuticle and work your way down to the tip with medium pressure. Don't use a back and forth movement as heat builds up and this can damage your nails. Continue lightly until all ridges on the nail surface have disappeared.

Clean Nails:Be sure that nails are clean and dry, free of any oil or lotion, before applying polish. Remove any old polish from nails.

Base Coat:Always use a Base Coat and let it dry for at least 1 minute. The Base Coat helps to keep nail polish from chipping and makes polish last longer.

Applying Polish:Apply two coats of polish. You should be able to cover the nail in three stokes, one on each side and then one in the middle.

Drying Time:Always allow your polish to dry thoroughly for several minutes before you apply the next coat. This will avoid the new coat from dragging on the surface of the previous coat and allow the next layer adhere better. Darker shades take longer to dry. Avoid fast drying polish. It does not last as long.

Top Coat:Once your nail polish has dried, apply a clear Top Coat to seal it. Continue to apply the Top Coat daily to keep nails looking fresher longer.Remove with a nail polish remover that contains hydrating oils.

The value of having good looking and well maintained nails is evident both to men and women. Overall nail care is important for everyone who not only wants to look great, but also maintain healthy hands and feet as well. Nail care incorporates use of various nail care products to clean, remove or clip unwanted areas and enhance the appearance of the nails. Nail care is an age old practice and nail polish may just be the oldest of all nail care products. Egyptians in the time of Pharaohs were documented to have used henna to color their nails and fingertips to signify social order, while the Chinese used a colored lacquer, made from gum Arabic, egg whites, gelatin and beeswax. Today several types of nail care products have been invented all aimed at improving or enhancing the appearance of the nails as well as offering protection. These products have also provided a platform for artistic and imaginative expressions on nails, hence the emergence of a new form of artistry known as nail art.

The basic form of nail care involves detailed cleaning of the natural nails. A manicure or pedicure treatment provides such care and is not only a treatment for the natural finger and toe nails, but also for the hands and feet. The treatment also consists of filing and shaping of the free edges using nail files and clippers. After such a treatment, nail polish is applied to add a smooth and glossy look. Nail polish can be clear or in a wide range of colors and shades. Nail art which involves painting of pictures, patterns or designs on the nails is best done after such a treatment and can be enhanced further by applying small decorations or imitation jewels on to the designs and finally sealing all the artwork in a nice coat of nail varnish. Expert nail art practitioners use various elements such as gem stones, glitter, abstracts, crystal, crushed sea-shells, glass beads and prints to decorate the patterns on the nails. The bold artists have been known to even use dried flowers and diamantes as ingredients of nail art.

Styling up doesn't depend on the dressing and garment selection only. When using nail polish, women should be careful as this may cause nails to become weak and brittle with continued use. This is because nail polish is made from a lot of artificial chemicals that may be absorbed by the nails if constantly used. It is a good idea to let your nails breathe form time to time so that it is not constantly exposed to possibly harmful chemicals. Abuse of nail polish may also lead to dull and discolored nails.

Related to nail polish is the use of nail polish removers. One of the more harmful removers are acetone based, which can cause nails to become dry. Dry nails are prone to breaking even with just a little force applied to them. It will take a long time for the body to repair broken nails so it is better to prevent it from happening in the first place.

In addition to these, be sure that you keep your hands and nails safe from external factors which may cause harm. This may include physical factors which may lead to weakening of your nails. This is why it is best to avoid using your nail as tools. Harmful chemicals such as bleach should also be avoided by using gloves to protect your nails from its harmful effects.

Be sure to follow these nails care tips and you won't have any problems when it comes to your nails. You can easily maintain healthy looking nails that you won't be afraid to show off to everyone. These are really easy tips that you won't even have to go to nail salons to maintain your good looking nails.
