How to Get Free Makeup Samples

Free makeup samples are available from numerous sources. Many times companies hand them out to entice you to buy more of their product, or to obtain your contact information so they can send you ads for their products. If you don't mind receiving a few flyers in the mail, there are several ways you can get free makeup samples, online and off.

Visit your favorite cosmetic company's website frequently to check for free makeup samples. They will often run promotions, particularly for new products, to create a buzz.

Visit local department stores and ask for free makeup samples. Usually, they have sample sizes available. However, these free makeup samples are unofficial and are not given to just anyone. If you're nice, and don't ask too much, the person behind the counter might give you a free sample, especially if they think they might make a sale.

Search the internet for free makeup samples. There are numerous sites maintained by people who keep a close watch on which companies are currently providing samples. Look for sites that link to the promotion page, and never do surveys or complete offers for free makeup samples. Sites offering this type of service are typically scams.

Check product bundles for free makeup samples. Many times you can find cosmetic samples attached to products you already buy. You might also look for two for one deals as a way to get free makeup samples.

Tips & Warnings

If visiting local stores for free makeup samples, only ask for one or two at a time. Don't seem greedy, and thank the clerk for what you get. They are doing you a favor. ok so i love to play around with my makeup! i really only use eyeline tho. you got any ways that i can play around with my makeup that look different but not in a ugly way? please tell me if you do and explain how to do it

Well if you mainly use eyeliner, you can always shape your eye differently with using just eyeliner. Your possibilities are endless

For example, you could make cat eyes or make wings at the end of your eye to create a more narrow or longer shape of your eye. Even changing how much eyeliner you put on or where you put it can change a lot. If you make the top a lot thicker, round the edge, and instead of putting it on the bottom waterline, you could put a thin line on your lower lash line giving the image of an 'anime-like' eye.

Random tip, If you use eyeliner and you want it to maintain throughout the day without smearing or wearing off, you can always use a black/dark brown eyeshadow. After lining your eye with the basic shape and size you want with your eyeliner like usual, take an angled brush, put a drop of water or eye drops on either the brush or the eyeshadow and use the angled brush & wet eyeshadow as sort of a liquid liner. After that, wash off the brush, make sure it's dry (or use another angled brush) and then re-line it with dry shadow. This keeps your eyeliner on all day, its great. People especially women strive to look younger. They eat healthy foods and exercise every single day. They buy the right kind of clothes befitting their age and status. It is a totality: skin, body, mind and hair. The hair is our crowning glory and the crown needs the right hair care products to live up to the expectation.

They often forget about the hair.This is a common problem. Women focus so much on the skin and they neglect their beautiful locks and smooth strands. In order for you to get healthy hair, you must take care of your scalp as well. You can make your hair nice for a day by having it styled in your favorite salon - it is an illusion. But is the scalp protected? First off, you need to patronize hair care products that are mild enough for the scalp and not have any adverse reactions that might cause dandruff or dry flakes.

You might hate that the scalp is a bit oily. You have to understand that it is healthy for the scalp to release natural oils. It protects you from bacteria and germs penetrating your scalp. It can also add to your hair moisture.

The need is different from one person to another. What works for your friend or a Hollywood actress advertising her shampoo brand may not work for you. Have you tried using those commercialized shampoos and conditioners endorsed by these sexy actors? Were you satisfied? These commercialized brands have too much synthetic chemicals in it that do more harm than good.

If you want to have naturally great hair, then use natural hair care products.

If you have dry hair, it is better to use shampoos and conditioners with organic aloe vera, almond and mosqueta rose. Normal hair needs protection and you can get that from chamomile extracts and milk proteins. Oily hair needs special attention - use green tea because it tones the scalp and helps in fast recovery of damaged scalp. If you have chemically treated hair (color, perm and straighteners), it is better to use products with shea butter because it prevents the color from fading out and corn syrup relieves the hair and scalp of all the chemicals from the hair treatments.

It is also better to use separate shampoo and conditioner. Do not be fooled by the 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner solution. Like the skin, the hair is equally important. You have to choose hair care products wisely and reap the benefits of having healthy and luxuriously beaufitul hair.

Skin Care - Going Back-to-Basics

What We Are Told

Almost daily we are bombarded with a new skin care product and are told that if we use this product, our skin will look younger, smoother, more attractive and so on. We are presented with pictures of young, attractive women who have probably never used the products their faces are associated with and probably never will.

We are lead to believe that 'the active ingredient' in these products are a new discovery (usually they also get some sort of pseuo-scientific name) and if we use the product that has this 'magical' ingredient we will end up with 20 year young skin - Sure !

The Truth About Skin Care

Skin care is just that - taking care of one’s skin, nothing more, nothing less. How you do this can depend on many things. The health of your skin, money, time, knowledge and probably a number of other factors will determine how much care you give to your skin.

Let’s review what your skin does for a moment. Firstly, it protects the inside of you body from the outside. That is, the skin forms a barrier between our external environment and our body’s insides. It is water proof and at the same time acts as a defence from pollution, microbes and other potentially harmful factors. In addition, it is partly responsible for eliminating toxins from our body in the form of perspiration, and your skin assists the body in temperature regulation. These and other functions are preformed by our skin on a continuous basis.

So how do we take care of our skin, to ensure that it can continue to perform at its optimal level?

Back-to-Basics of Skin Care

There are 3 basic principles that come together in good skin care.

Drinking enough water on a daily basis to keep the skin well hydrated. This involves drinking at least 2 litres of water each and every day, because the body’s metabolism will require this amount of water to function properly. More water is required if we engage in strenuous physical activity or work in a physically demanding environment. You can use the most expensive moisturisers you like, if you don’t drink enough water, your skin will become dehydrated and no moisturiser or beauty treatment will stop this in the long term.
Eating good quality, unprocessed foods such as fruits, grains, vegetables, some dairy and lean meat, will help you to provide the skin with the nutrients it requires to keep performing its vital functions. Your skin needs vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids, etc., to function properly and while some natural skin care products do provide many of these nutrients, there is no substitute for nutrients gained from high quality food.
A daily skin care regime that will unclog pores, remove dirt and dead skin cells, as well as provide nourishment to the underlying, living skin cells, is an essential step to good skin care. Now this regime can be quite simple or more involved.

At its most basic, skin care can involve as little as using a loofah on a daily basis when showering or bathing, to remove the dead cells from your body’s outermost layer of skin. Using a loofah not only removes the dead skin cells, but also promotes blood circulation to the outer layers of your skin, providing it with nutrients and oxygen.

In addition, use a mild, natural, pH-balanced (slightly acidic) soap to keep your skin clean and you’re done.

Let’s face it, many people don’t even use a loofah, and couldn’t care less about what sort of soap they use to wash their face and body with. However, more concerned folk, who have an interest in maintaining the health and look of their skin for as long as possible, may be prepared to go a few steps further than that by implementing a good, daily skin care regime utilising natural skin care products.

Implementing a Good Skin Care Regime

A sound, basic skin care regime is more than enough for most people. Using a loofah for their body’s skin, a cleanser, toner and moisturiser for the face, plus an all-over body moisturiser is all that’s required most of the time. In addition, using a clay mask once or twice a week will help to remove dead skin cells and deeply imbedded dirt from the facial skin and pores. An exfoliant can also be used, probably 2-3 times a week, if you’re not using a loofah.

Increasingly, consumers are becoming aware of the potential health risks presented by artificial and other non-natural ingredients in beauty products. We all, well most of us, avoid foods and beverages which contain artificial preservatives, flavours, emulsifiers, etc., for sound health reasons. These days, we’ve extended this concern to other areas of products we use on our body and in our home.

Making use of natural skin care products that contain as many organically grown ingredients such as essential oils, herbal extracts, cosmetic butters and the like, are a preferred option for discerning customers. There are positive health benefits associated with using holistic natural ingredients rather than isolated active compounds, because the body is able to better utilise natural substances and the chance of negative side-effects is reduced.

Choosing the right skin care system for your skin type is the final aspect to good skin care. Most people have two different facial skin types, for example, the forehead, nose and sometimes chin may be slightly oily, while the remaining areas of the face and neck may be slightly dry. It is important to identify your skin type before buying your skin care products, because the ingredients in the products should benefit the skin type you are trying to normalise. You may need to purchase two different skin care systems to accommodate your different skin types, however, more often than not, especially if the skin types differ only marginally from ‘normal’, you may be able to just aim between the two skin types for your choice of toner, and buy a second cleanser and moisturiser to accommodate the two skin types.

Let me give you an example. Let’s stick to the example above, where you may have an oily T-zone with otherwise dry facial skin.

If you have a close look at Wildcrafted’s systems for oily and normal skin types, you’ll discover, that the two systems only differ in one product - that is, the facial clay mask for the oily system is our Green Earth Medicine Facial Clay, while the Yellow Clay Mask is used in the system for Normal skin. Now, the system for dry skin, is somewhat different and there are actually two systems - one for primarily dry skin, the other for dry and sensitive skin.

The key here is to identify whether the oily or dry facial skin is the primary problem. That is, which is giving you more trouble? If it’s the oily part of your skin, than use the system for oily skin and use the Papaya day cream on the dry areas of the face rather than the Avocado cream, although, the Avocado Day Crème is okay to use even on slightly dry skin. If on the other hand the dry facial skin is more problematic and there are areas where your facial skin is not just dry but also sensitive, use the Hydrating Cleanser and Rose Day Cream to cleanse and moisturise instead of the Lemon Cleanser and Avocado Day Crème. Choose the Green Clay mask for the T-Zone and the Red Clay mask for the dry and sensitive areas of your skin.

By mixing and matching the different products you can ‘make’ a system that will suit your skin types and you do not have to purchase two entirely different systems, which of course is another option and you don’t have to think about it too much.

Back-to-Basics of skin care is really about applying common sense, a little knowledge and making the right choice of products. By providing your body with sufficient amounts of water, quality, unprocessed food, and using natural skin care products you can’t go wrong and the health of your skin is likely to stay with you a lot longer.

Your hands are one of the most used parts of your body second only to your legs. Beautiful and well groomed hands leave a good and fresh impression. Taking care of your hands is imperative; you will need to take the time out to look after your hands. In this article we will discuss the various ways in which you can look after your hands as well as your nails that play an important part in the look of your hands.

You know your hands like, well, the back of your hand- but do you like what you see? Our hands are frequently less attractive than we'd like. Between dry, wrinkly skin and nails that have seen better days, they could really look and feel a lot better. And it isn't that hard to let them. Just a few minutes here and there, and a few handy tips, will keep your hands looking beautiful and feeling great.

With everything we put our hands through, it's no wonder they don't always look their best. They're constantly exposed to the elements, in the sun and in the freezing cold, their skin getting baked and frozen and dried in the open air. And we use them hard, whether we're cleaning, roughing them up on the job, or gardening. Some of this can't be avoided, but a lot of it can, and should.

First, protect your hands when you can. In the summer, they need sunscreen just as much as the rest of you, and in the winter, protect them from the cold that dries them out with gloves and heavy moisturizer. When you wash the dishes, don't soak your hands in the soap along with the dishes- when it dries afterwards, your skin loses some of the moisture that keeps it healthy.

Wear gloves to protect your skin from the soap. And never, ever use heavy cleaning products without gloves, especially products that include bleach. These products can do irreparable damaged to your hands' skin, causing premature wrinkling, and, in extreme cases, even injury. It really pays to take all the precautions necessary to save your hands.

Keep your hands moisturized, whether this means throwing out your old harsh soap and replacing it with one that helps keep your skins moisture in balance, or just getting a good hand moisturizer. To make sure you apply it regularly, have a small bottle that you keep in your purse, as well as one that you take with you to your work. You'll be able to feel the difference.

To truly do your hands justice, you have to keep your nails nicely trimmed and tended. They should all be trimmed down to the same level, and cut into the same shape for the cleanest look. File their edges smooth, to avoid tearing your nails or ruining your favorite sweater with a bad snag. Keep your cuticles under control by soaking them in warm water and pushing them back, to make your nails look longer and healthier. You'll be glad you did, every time you offer a new friend your beautiful, soft hand for a shake.

So take some time out and begin to follow the simple steps towards maintain and beautifying your hands. Once your hands begin to look beautiful you will feel fresh and revitalized, no longer will you feel ashamed of stretching your hand out for a handshake. This time a handshake is all you will need to make a lasting impression.
